CALGARY CO-OP MEMBERSHIP
TERMS AND CONDITIONS

In this document we will use the name “Calgary Co-op” to describe the
Calgary Co-operative Association Limited. This site
www.calgarycoop.com
(the “Site”) is a website owned and operated by Calgary Co-op.
These Terms and Conditions govern the online Calgary Co-op
membership application process and the administration of your corresponding
account. Calgary Co-op reserves the right to modify or amend these Terms and
Conditions without notice at any time. As such, it is important that the Terms
and Conditions be read on a regular basis so that you are aware of any such
changes. Acceptance of membership constitutes an agreement to comply with the
following conditions and regulations.
1.
Acceptance of Terms
Member agrees to have
read these Terms and Conditions and understands and agrees to what is contained
herein. Notwithstanding any other section of these Terms and Conditions, the
posting of the current version of the Legal Disclaimer

shall be deemed notice to the member
of such Web Use Waiver and Policy, where notice is required or permitted to be
given hereunder.
2.
Membership Eligibility
Membership is open to any person, individual
or entity, who meets the obligations of membership and who:
a. If an individual, is 15 years of
age or older;
b. Purchases, as a condition of
membership, at least one membership share with a par value of one dollar; and
c. Submits to Calgary Co-op:
i. an online application for
membership; and
ii. payment for the membership through
the Site.
All
information supplied by you as requested by Calgary Co-op is true, accurate,
current and complete and you agree to promptly update your account information
in order to keep it current, complete and accurate.
3.
Payment
Payment
for the membership through the Site must be made to Calgary Co-op in Canadian
Dollars paid either by VISA or MasterCard. Calgary Co-op has engaged Moneris
Solutions (“Moneris”) as its online
payment solution provider. Moneris collects your name and credit card
information you submit when conducting business on this Site for payment of
your Calgary Co-op membership. Moneris will maintain ownership over this
information and data. Moneris does not sell any personal information that it
collects. By submitting your personal information on this Site you consent to
such transfer and storage. Please review
the Moneris privacy policy for more information about how Moneris collects,
uses and discloses personal information at https://www.moneris.com/en/Privacy-Policy. Calgary Co-op is not responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for
any damage or loss suffered by you which is caused or alleged to be caused by
or in connection with Moneris’ privacy policy, content on its website generally
or how it collects, uses or discloses personal information and data.
4.
Approval of Application
for Membership
Following acceptance of these Terms and Conditions
and the submission of your online application, the applicant will be provided email
notice of membership approval from Calgary Co-op. Calgary Co-op, in their sole
discretion, reserves
the right to refuse membership to any applicant or to revoke a membership for
serious reasons, including fraud, or breach of conditions.
5.
Membership Benefits
A co-operative is an organization that
is owned by its members, for the good of its members. With a one-dollar investment, you will own a
share of Calgary Co-op. As a member, you
can run for the board of directors, attend Calgary Co-op’s Annual Meeting and
cast a vote during yearly director elections.
As a Calgary Co-op member, you’ll also have
the opportunity to earn an annual member refund based on the amount of
purchases you’ve made each year. This includes everything purchased at Calgary
Co-op food centres, including Pharmacy; Wine, Spirits, Beer locations; Home Health
Care stores, and at Calgary Co-op gas bars for petroleum and convenience store purchases.
With Revved Up Rewards, you’ll also
receive an additional two cents per litre towards your next grocery purchase —
every time you fill up your vehicle.
T4As are mailed in January of each year
to members who earned a member refund in excess of $100 and received a statement
detailing their refund in February for the prior year. For more information on

6.
Membership Cards
Upon acceptance, each new member will
receive a printable version of a Calgary Co-op Membership Card via email, as
well as their Calgary Co-op Membership cards by mail, which can then be used at
all Calgary Co-op food centres, including Pharmacy; Wine, Spirits, Beer
locations; Home Health Care stores, and at Calgary Co-op gas bars for petroleum
and convenience store purchases.
If a
Membership Card is lost or stolen, you may replace your card at a Calgary Co-op
food center, with picture identification.
7.
Co-operative By-Laws and
Limitation of Liability
Calgary Co-op is
governed by a set of by-laws to conduct its affairs, and when you
join Calgary Co-op, you agree to abide by those by-laws. Please contact us

In addition to the Calgary Co-op Rules of
Co-operation, failure to comply with these Terms and Conditions or abuse of
membership privileges may result in the termination of a membership or
curtailment of certain privileges.
Calgary Co-op will be
released from, and in no event, will Calgary Co-op be liable or responsible
for, any and all claims in respect of any loss or damage suffered in connection
with the membership program by the member or others that is caused by:
a.
Failure
by Calgary Co-op to provide an account statement.
b.
Any
errors or omissions in Calgary Co-op sources including but not limited to this
Site or any of its affiliated websites.
c.
Loss
or theft of a benefit.
d.
The
termination of the membership of a member.
e.
Cancellation
by Calgary Co-op of any benefits.
f.
Failure by Calgary Co-op to send a member any
emails or other communications as set out in these Terms and Conditions.
8.
Communications
a.
Members
are responsible for and are required to immediately notify Calgary Co-op of any
changes to member’s mailing address, email address and other contact
information the member may have provided to Calgary Co-op in connection with
your account or membership.
b.
Calgary
Co-op shall have no liability for any misdirected, lost or delayed communications
(including mail or other electronic communications) resulting from member’s failure
to provide such notice or for any interruption or delay in mail delivery. Calgary
Co-op may also communicate with a member electronically and any notice or
electronic statement of the account provided to member, or agreement made
electronically, will be considered to be "in writing", signed and
delivered for all purposes unless otherwise prescribed by law.
9.
Use of Information
a.
Calgary
Co-op may exchange all information relating to a member’s application,
membership, and transactions with other parties, such as participating
partners, merchants or service providers, as required to administer your membership,
to fulfill membership benefits and to provide member with Calgary Co-op information
by mail or email.
b.
All
collection, use or disclosure of personal information about a member shall be
in accordance with the Calgary Co-op Privacy Policy that is available at
http://www.calgarycoop.com/privacy-policy
10.
Waiver
a.
Any
waiver by Calgary Co-op of the strict observance, performance or compliance by
member of any portion of these Terms and Conditions and any extension of time
or other indulgence granted by Calgary Co-op, either expressly or by course of
conduct, shall not alter, affect or prejudice any of Calgary Co-op’s rights or
remedies and shall be effective only in the specific instance and for the
purpose for which it was given and shall be deemed not to be a waiver of any of
Calgary Co-op’s rights
and remedies arising in respect of any other breach of these Terms and
Conditions.
b.
No
delay or omission by Calgary Co-op in exercising any right or remedy hereunder
shall operate as a waiver of that or any other right or remedy.

Calgary Co-op respects
a member’s right to privacy. Our privacy policy outlines our policies and
